Quick start

New skipper? Follow these steps before your first convoy attack.

  1. 1

Try the free demo or jump into 1.0

Download the [Silent Shark Demo on Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4772370/Silent_Shark_Demo/) or buy the full game on [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4705650/Silent_Shark/). Run Basic Tutorial once, then skim our Getting Started guide for chart and hydrophone habits that stick.

  2. 2

    Learn the four bearings loop

Before convoy scenarios, read Four Bearings Method and practice timestamped plots on the tactical chart. Stable course and speed estimates feed every later TDC solution.

  3. 3

    Master TDC and stadimeter range

Work through How to Use the TDC and Stadimeter Range. Pair periscope ID with mast-height range cuts so Position Keeper drift stays low before you flood tubes.

  4. 4

    Survive destroyer counter-attacks

When escorts respond, follow Evading Destroyers and Thermal Diving guidance. Pre-draw egress on the chart during First Patrol rehearsals.

  5. 5

    Run the full Pacific career

With 1.0 live, open Career Progression, Convoy Attack Doctrine, and Available Now Notes. Drill Ship Identification and the Scenario Generator, then buy or continue on [Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4705650/Silent_Shark/).
