Time compression is available on the chart for transit legs, but attack phases expect you at 1× or modest compression so hydrophone bearings and TDC updates stay meaningful. The Basic Tutorial disables extreme compression specifically because it caused players to overshoot intercept points — treat that as a hint for self-imposed limits outside tutorials too.
