Scenario Generator Guide

The scenario generator is the fastest way to drill Silent Shark without waiting for a campaign order. The free Demo ships a limited generator; the full game planned for August 12, 2026 expands scenario tools alongside the Pacific career. This page shows how to use what you have today and what to expect at 1.0.

Demo generator: best drills

Configure clear, repeatable setups:

StadimeterClear air, identifiable classStadimeter Range

Log each attempt: seed or preset name, weather, result, and which TDC field failed. Patterns matter more than one lucky hit.

Full-game expectations

Store features list complete scenario tools for 1.0. Expect broader control over forces, conditions, and practice setups than the Demo’s limited slice. Use Demo vs Full when deciding whether to wait for launch or drill daily now.

Campaign play and generator play remain single-player. The generator will not become a multiplayer lobby.

  1. Two accuracy runs — AoB + stadimeter only, no escorts.
  2. One pressure run — add an escort and demand a planned egress.
  3. One foul-weather run — rain or night to stress visual tools — Binoculars & TBT.
  4. One end-to-end sortie — follow First Patrol phases with the Campaign Tutorial video mindset.

Print or keep open the Attack Checklist during drills until the order is muscle memory.

Generator etiquette for learning

  • Change one variable per session when diagnosing misses.
  • Do not crank difficulty and weather simultaneously if you are still missing beam shots.
  • After three failures on the same preset, switch to the TDC system page and rebuild fundamentals.

The scenario generator is a gym. The campaign is the match. Train deliberately in one so the other feels earned.

Designing a fair self-test

A good generator session asks one question. Bad sessions ask five at once — night, rain, two escorts, extreme range, and a new AoB method — then teach you nothing except frustration. Write the question on paper before you click start. End the session when you have an answer, not when you are angry. Typical questions: Can I hold AoB within ten degrees? Can I egress silent after one destroyer sprint?

Seeds, notes, and honest scoring

If the Demo exposes a seed or preset name, keep it. Score runs with simple marks: solution quality, hit or miss, survival, and which instrument lied. Share seeds with friends only after you remove spoiler commentary about campaign events — the generator is for skill, not lore spoilers.

Bridging generator drills to career day one

Career patrols add radio pressure and inventory limits, but the first bad hour still looks like a generator failure: rushed AoB, stale range, noisy dive. Completing the weekly plan on this page before the August 12, 2026 launch is the cheapest insurance you can buy with free Demo time. Read Launch Notes as the date nears.

Pairing tools

Keep these open beside the generator:

After a patch

When Radio Room News mentions audio timing or visual tools, rerun your favorite seed once before you invent new tactics. Patches change feel; seeds keep the comparison honest.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Silent Shark questions.

Is the Demo scenario generator the same as the full game?

No. The Demo includes a limited generator. The full release plans complete scenario tools plus the Pacific campaign.

Can I practice lifeguard missions in the generator?

Use surface/dive timing drills now. Dedicated lifeguard career missions are campaign content — see [Lifeguard Missions](/campaign/lifeguard-missions/).

What should I drill the week before launch?

AoB, four bearings, destroyer egress, and diving schedules. Those transfer directly into day-one career patrols.
